JOB TITLE: Advancement Specialist

Alpha House of Tampa creates sustainable change in the lives of our community’s most vulnerable families.
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the implementation of annual and capital marketing and fundraising activities and the coordination of agency volunteerism.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the organization’s mission, vision, core values, and strategic plan.
• Professionally represent Alpha House of Tampa to a variety of audiences and interact effectively with external constituencies on- and off-site. This may include providing tours of the campus and facilities to visitors; interfacing appropriately with staff, volunteers, donors, and prospects in person and on the phone; and participating in community networking events.
• Maintain a robust social media presence, prepare a monthly electronic newsletter utilizing a marketing automation platform, and helping to update the current website and create content for a new one.
• Coordinate event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support, and pre- and post-event evaluations. Events include but are not limited to: regularly scheduled Lunch & Learns, special event fundraisers, and capital campaign activities.
• Identify tangible items needed for program, market that information to the community, acknowledge donors as appropriate, and make items available to staff for client distribution.
• Manage donor database, inputting data and generating reports; handle written acknowledgment of financial gifts and other correspondence as needed.
• On an as-needed basis, coordinate group and individual volunteer activities and track those hours.
• Assist with the solicitation and cultivation of relationships to generate revenue.
• Assist with the coordination and monitoring of advancement timelines and ensure deadlines are met.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate may be an upper level univerity student pursuing a public relations, marketing, or similar degree. Self-starter with a minimum of one year (three preferred) of demonstrated success in event coordination and administration.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic mathematical skills. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Graphic Design Internship at Crisis Center of Tampa Bay

Fall Semester 2018

This internship provides a practical and meaningful internship experience by working closely with professionals in the Development and Marketing Departments of a well-respected area non-profit agency. Students will have the ability to directly utilize their skills to help increase and enhance the organization’s awareness.  They will routinely work on projects that will expose them to the full-range of programs and services offered by the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.


Duties Include      

*Concept and create internal marketing pieces including posters and signage

*Concept and create brochures, one-sheets, and other collateral materials

*Develop advertising and social media graphics to help increase awareness of the Crisis Center in the community

*Assist with design projects such as invitations or special event materials

*Assist with design-related projects for the Crisis Center’s website

*Knowledge of video production a plus, but not necessary

Prime Protection seeks PR intern for fall – stipend paid upon completion

Prime Protection is looking for a motivated PR intern that wants to mix PR and social media.  We enjoy a relaxed atmosphere at the office but are very serious about accomplishing the goal of growing the company and giving back to the community.  We are open to hiring someone with a lot of creative ideas that wants to express themselves in a business culture that allows creativity.  The candidate will learn on the job and be responsible for finding and indexing press contacts in the media arena including radio, print, social and tv.  Social media will be a big part of what the candidate will be doing, including posting, joining groups, being involved and creating relationships via direct messaging in those groups to name a few.    
Any cause that we donate time or money to will be drawn up as a press release and distributed to the appropriate channels.  Candidate will be responsible for having Prime Protection team up with local schools, charities, church, police, fire and sports organizations to offer both our services and fundraising.   There will be press release’s and copy needed for our website, social media and some articles for web distribution.  The office is located by USF and if candidate completes the hours to satisfaction, there may be an opportunity to join our team permanently.

Spectrum Networks offers internship opportunities in the following areas:

• Traffic Reporting: The traffic reporting intern will learn the state of the art systems used to translate information about traffic conditions into readily consumable traffic reports as well as the importance of old fashioned information gathering in that process. The intern will shadow the traffic reporter in the field and will assist in the production of traffic stories.
• Digital Media: Assist in the creation, editing and publishing of digital content; assist staff with production of interactive features and contribute to social media initiatives.
• Meteorology: Shadow and work closely with staff meteorologists on developing forecasts and updating graphics for on-air use.

• Complete core assignment (noted above) provided by the respective department and/or functional area

5. Must be willing to participate for a term of 10 weeks (20-25 hours weekly)
6. Must agree not to miss more than three (3) days of the internship program
7. Willing and able to uphold a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and breaking news events
8. Must receive course credit for participation in the program
9. One (1) letter of recommendation

Preferred Qualifications:
• Grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
• Majors in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Sports Business, Marketing, Finance etc.,
• Previous internship experience
• Demonstrated participation in extracurricular activities a plus
