Goals
1. Learn more about video production
o Implementation of video archive
o Assist Multimedia Producer with video production
o Setup and breakdown of equipment
o Coordination of video shoots
o Gain experience using industry standard DSLR cameras in the production process of
capturing interviews and general ENG practices
2. Increase your understanding of multimedia integration using video
o Collaborate with team members on video distribution opportunities for optimal viewership
o Develop graphic design for video
3. Develop editing and interview skills
o Assist with editing video packages using Adobe CC
o Learn story telling techniques
4. Receive college credit if needed for internship
o Compile ePortfolio of work

VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP POSITION DESCRIPTION

 Volunteer Position: Healthy Community Internship – Marketing and Social Media

 Work Location: Special Olympics Florida, Healthy Community Tampa Bay

 Commitment: Minimum of 10 hours per week for a full semester. Specific schedule to be agreed upon by Intern and Senior Outreach Manager.  Internship will take place out of Healthy Community Tampa Bay site at 5420 W. Cypress St. in Tampa.

 Job Summary: Learn about the planning and implementation of Special Olympics Florida Healthy Community Tampa Bay programs including awareness, education, structure and implementation of its initiatives for Special Olympics Florida athletes. Assist in the management of social media accounts and development of promotional materials to recruit clients and medical providers to assist with health screenings for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).

 Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a thorough understanding of Special Olympics Florida and its programs.

 

  1. Meet weekly with an assigned mentor to develop an understanding of program management and health initiatives for Special Olympics Florida athletes.

 

  1. Learn about Healthy Community Programs.
    • Create outreach/recruitment flyers, web content, success stories, postcards & other outreach materials as required
    • Produce lively Social Media content for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
    • Assist with recruitment and outreach material for writing blogs, newsletters and publications

 

  1. Learn about the success of planning and implementing healthy community programs.
  • Develop an understanding of issues of health and wellness for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Work with Special Olympics Florida staff to evaluate the success of the health and wellness programs.
  • Help with marketing Healthy Community programs to athletes and county programs.
  • Represent Healthy Community programs at outreach events such as health fairs.

Is communicating big ideas your passion? Do you want to help position our team to become a thought leader in the tech startup industry?
We need creative storytellers to help create and execute. You’ll be assisting the marketing team with creative writing strategy, concept and execution.
We’re looking for Content Strategy/Social Media interns who are eager and want to do it all, with the confidence to craft strong messaging and captivating stories for the Wave and our tech startups. Whether it’s blogs, social posts, marketing collateral, or podcasts, we’ve got lots of content writing needs.
Content Strategy/Social Media Specific Duties
● Creating content for marketing material, blogs, social media, podcast/video scripts, website
content, and/or press releases
● Work closely with marketing and other creative intern teammates to maintain Tampa Bay Wave’s
brand voice across our site, social channels, events, and more while maintaining professionalism
● Measuring and analyzing data for each campaign or content piece
● Making these internships what YOU want them to be, you have the ability to make these
opportunities into something big and build a strong portfolio
Additional Internship Duties and Opportunities
● In addition to position specific duties, all interns are also often asked to help with internal projects,
internal programs, and more
● Facilitate operations for the coworking space
● Interns have the opportunity to work directly with some of our Accelerator companies
● Assist in the planning, setup and execution of Tampa Bay Wave events like Pitch Night, CEO roundtables, Demo Days, Friends of Wave socials and more

Skills & Requirements
If you have experience writing compelling website copy, headlines, blogs, emails, creative Instagram
captions, or more, then we’d like to see your stuff.
