ABC-7 in Sarasota needs operations technician

WWSB in Sarasota, Florida is looking for a full time Operations Technician to manage the process of ingest, QC, transfer and playout of video/on-air content. Candidates must have a strong eye for detail, quick reflexes, excellent problem solving ability and technical aptitude. The ability to work with people in a fast paced multi-tasking environment is a necessity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Switch station breaks and programming analog and digital channels, record satellite program feeds, segment syndicated programming, record newscast for playback, and check quality of program feeds prior to air time.
  • Operate Sundance tapeless airplay system: Beta SP, DVC Pro tape machines. Dub commercials, promos and PSA’s for air.
  • Check next days logs for missing material.
  • Keep accurate transmitter and program logs. Good mathematical, computer and internet skills are necessary.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • commercial ingest, transcoding and segmenting of shows for air, checking video and audio quality and aspect ratio of ingested content.

The candidate will also pan in live shots, verify closed captioning, dub content, shade cameras for newscasts and various other duties. General computer skills are an absolute must. This is an exciting opportunity for a person passionate about television to work with state of the art equipment and systems in an evolving environment.

We are looking for an excellent team player who has a solutions-oriented approach, a “can do” attitude and the ability to multi-task without compromising quality.Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends with the possibility of overtime.

Intern needed for product marketing study

Internship – Marketing Study on Amazon.com

We are a relatively new company called PTC-Profits to Charity. We sell private label dog supplements that we produce ourselves. We are using e-commerce websites to market and sell our product. Specifically, Amazon.com and Ebay.com. Both sites have listings that allow for a creative description of the product and 6 to 8 pictures that include the ability to upload video. A unique feature of these sites is that potential buyers that seek out our product with money in hand. They buy our product or our competitors’ product based on pictures and subsequent listings. Our goal is to persuade them that ours is the best product for them to buy.

Objectives:

1. Find what single picture and price of our product will draw customers who are looking at the list of similar products to ours to draw them to our listing.

2. Once we have them on our listing, what words and pictures will persuade them to purchase our product?

3. Through statistical analysis, determine which ideas have the best conversion rates based on the available data.

Measurement of Success

These listing are totally within our control to revise. The sales volumes are high enough that we can get relatively quick feedback based on the changes we make. Direct feedback is achieved by watching both the click rate (How many times a customer clicks on our listing compared to the number of times it appears on the search page) and the conversion rate (how many customers that are on our listing purchase the product).

Candidates should

  • Bea Advertising or Marketing majors
  • Have completed most of the marketing/advertising-related classes
  • Possess some interest and basic skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Publisher or related graphic and publishing software
