TBAE seeks interns

Are you interested in getting real-world experience in the media field? Then apply to be an intern at Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network (TBAE) this Fall Semester! TBAE is looking for self-motivated and hard working students to join our team. Every TBAE intern will leave this internship knowing what it takes to be a professional working in television. They will also learn to produce and edit their own promotional video or PSA to use in their professional reel. TBAE offers students two different tracks to choose from as their internship focus.


Pre-Production, Distribution, and Marketing Intern:

  • Write and execute a script
  • Execute social media during LIVE taping of programs
  • Learn Marketing Skills on how to promote original programming
  • Gain teleprompter skills
  • Learn Floor Director Skills in TBAE’s state of the art studios
  • Learn video production and editing skills
  • Create email campaigns to market TBAE


Video Production/Editor Intern:

  • Write and execute a script
  • Gain teleprompter skills
  • Learn to set up camera and lighting equipment in TBAE’s virtual production studio
  • Technical Directing in TBAE’s Master Control during productions
  • Train on live multi-camera productions in the field
  • Interns will be trained in Adobe Photoshop
  • Edit video using Final Cut X software
  • Cut and edit public service announcements (PSA’s) and program episodes.


Safety Practices:

To protect our staff and interns everyone is required to wear a mask when in the office. Interns will also get their own desk to avoid sharing computers. In order to avoid large groups and limit time spent in the office we have also incorporated virtual learning to our internship program. Interns will communicate using Google Docs and participate in three Zoom trainings listed below:

  • Intro to Wirecast for Production

Florida Holocaust Museum seeks interns (video)

Interns will be responsible for creating short (2-3 min. long) videos to be used in The FHM media campaign for our Anne Frank Humanitarian Award program using assets recorded by FHM staff.  Additionally, interns will assist the Education Department with the creation of short education videos, assist with adding content to the Museum’s virtual tour, and will edit Holocaust Survivor testimonies and create short films with them, adding images, maps, text, etc…

Knowledge of Adobe Premier for video editing would be optimal as this program is already purchased by The FHM.

The intern positions are available now and would be ongoing. The AFHA project would be completed by September, however, additional projects would allow for continued or new internship positions for the fall semester.

Remote work: Video, audio producer (new position)

Intern wanted for video and audio production of weekly 80-minute law enforcement talk show.  Work will be done remotely (virtually) and is estimated to be approximately 20 – 30 hours per week (more hours available).  This is not a paid position but qualifies for internship course credit.

Applicant must be competent in audio and video production as well as graphic design using professional software.

Job consists of:

  1. Optional participation in weekly LIVE 80-minute video talk show streamed to YouTube and Facebook starting at 7pm EDT every Monday evening.
  2. Weekly post audio production of mp3 file from LIVE 80-minute video show for weekly radio show (mp4 of LIVE show is downloaded from YouTube). The audio file is normally produced on Tuesday (the day after the LIVE show) and between 74 – 86 minutes in length to meet radio station programing requirements.  Editing is usually minor and includes occasional censoring (bleeping) of profanity and addition of intro and outro music (host will notate times of any profanity).  Finished product is uploaded to Dropbox and download link sent to radio station.
  3. Post video production, separating LIVE 80-minute video show into 6 mp4 segments to be uploaded to YouTube and scheduled to play at 4pm EDT the other six days of the week (Tue – Sun). Segments will include intro and outro music.  Any related images and videos will also be imbedded in the segment(s).  No censoring of language in this medium is required.
