The writing assignments will vary but will include interviewing faculty, alumni, and students for stories for our website, social media, and email communications. And any graphic design or social media experience would be a plus. If the students have a federal work study award, they can use it to get paid for this internship. Otherwise, this is an unpaid experience.

Communications Internship (Fall 2019/Spring 2020 Semesters)
As a communications intern, you will closely work with the Communications and IT team in promoting and supporting the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s events, programs and outreach
efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
• Assist with social media posting and brainstorming, and basic video production
• Produce event flyers and simple graphics
• Assist with website and weekly e-newsletter updates
• Draft short articles and content for Lawyer magazine and proof-read magazine content
• Draft news releases and other collateral
• Assist with event logistics, including taking photos, helping staff with check-in and event setup
The internship is unpaid and will require at least 12 hours a week, more hours are fine if required for college credit. Flexible schedule. Please confirm with your University to determine if this internship meets the requirements for credit.

Desired Skills & Experience
• Pursuing a degree in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism or similar field

The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPC) is accepting applications for our Internship Program. The EPC is a local government agency established to protect the environment and natural resources of Hillsborough County. We have multiple regulatory programs (air, waste, water, and wetlands) and environmental monitoring and restoration programs.

 

The EPC hosts and mentors interns mainly in the fields of biology, law, GIS, engineering, chemistry, information technologies (MIS), environmental sciences, and marketing. Opportunities exist for experience in our lab and/or in the field learning about natural resource protection, permitting, compliance assistance, and community outreach. Job description:

The City of Tampa is looking for a talented and creative Social Media Marketing Intern to assist the Marketing & Communications team in developing and implementing original content on the City’s social media platforms.  The intern will play an active role in maintaining and monitoring the City’s accounts, while helping to create new and innovative strategies to broaden the reach of their current social media platforms.

The City of Tampa currently has a presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube, with over 225,000 followers.  Their strategic goals for social media are to promote the area and its amenities, provide customer service and guidance to those who need it, educate residents and visitors on programs, initiatives and services available to them and alert the public during emergency situations.

Candidate should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic and enjoy taking on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This internship will benefit someone who is interested in marketing, community relations, education, and audience development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and post content for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in a timely manner
  • Utilize the City’s Social Media Content Calendar to strategically schedule future content
  • Perform research to find content relevant to the City’s goals as stated above
  • Develop a social media marketing campaign to increase the City’s followers
  • Schedule Snapchat Geofilters for upcoming events and/or programs
  • Track analytics for all social media platforms and report on plans or strategies to optimize reach
  • Create graphics for use on social media with Adobe Photoshop, Canva or similar program

  • Host a weekly Instagram or Snapchat story centered around a different topic based on current events

Requirements:
