Hillsborough County Fire Rescue needs interns for Public Safety Operations Center

The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, Office of Emergency Management is seeking interns for a project involving our new Volunteer Reception Center and Hillsborough Emergency Response Operations (HERO) programs. These new initiatives are being developed in order to ensure the safety of Hillsborough County’s residents, businesses, and communities during large-scale emergencies and disasters.

 Interns will be working at the Hillsborough County Public Safety Operations Center (PSOC) in a team setting, mentored by experienced emergency management personnel. There are multiple opportunities to gain experience in the following disciplines within these projects:

Emergency Management

Mass Communications

Volunteer Management

Training Development

Media Development

Planning & Policy Development

Data Management

Government Liaison


 This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in local government with an emergency management agency in one of the largest counties in the state of Florida. This opportunity is unpaid, and hours are flexible with your students’ class schedules.
