LifeLink needs a PR intern

Position Title:  Public Affairs Intern (Unpaid)                       Start Date: 1/16/18

Number of Openings:  1                                                            Hours Per Week:  15-20


Requirements:  Student must be taking internship for class credit. This is an unpaid position.


Company ProfileLifeLink® Foundation is a non-profit community service organization dedicated to the recovery of life-saving and life-enhancing organs and tissue for transplantation therapy. The Foundation works in a sensitive, diligent, and compassionate manner to facilitate the donation of desperately needed organs and tissues for waiting patients, support research efforts to enhance the available supply of organs and tissue for transplant patients, improve clinical outcomes of patients post transplantation.  We are committed to inspiring the public to save lives through organ donation. To make organ transplant a reality, LifeLink Foundation focuses its attention in a number of areas.


Position Description:  The Public Affairs intern will be responsible for appropriate aspects of social media outreach, volunteer management, college outreach, public education initiatives and special projects. Position will be based in the Tampa office. Student must have transportation.


Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the intern may learn how to:

  • Public Speaking/presentations to share donation information with the community
  • Write for the LifeLink volunteer newsletter
  • Design and write social media posts: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Lead a volunteer meeting/training
  • Event/Program Planning
  • Research and record demographic data for donor designation marketing
  • Contribute, as needed, to special projects as they arise (design, social media, video marketing)



Strong verbal and written communication skills

Undergraduate or graduate students majoring in public relations, marketing or a related field

Familiarity with various social media outlets

Familiarity with press releases

Knowledge of photo/video editing

Knowledge of graphic design software and principles

Student must be taking this internship for class credit
