Intern- Digital Marketing (Outback Steakhouse)
Bloomin’ Brands Inc., headquartered in Tampa, FL, is seeking an intern who is currently pursuing a career in marketing to work in our Marketing department for the Spring of 2017 (February through May) in our Home Office supporting the Outback Digital Marketing team.  
Our family of restaurants includes Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.  Together, these unique, Founder-inspired restaurant concepts that deliver exceptional quality and welcoming hospitality make up Bloomin’ Brands, Inc.  We are one of the world’s largest casual dining companies with approximately 95,000 Team Members and more than 1,500 restaurants throughout 48 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and 21 countries. 
Our interns must be eager to learn our business.  They will have the opportunity to apply their educational and work-related experience to practical business issues.  This hands-on, real-world program will expose the intern to current industry trends, activities and strategies and allow them to learn a variety of business marketing tactics and functions.
Position Overview and Requirements 
 
  • Contribute as a full member of the marketing team gaining hands-on work experience that takes classroom learning to practical application 
  • Apply Marketing Communications and analytical skills to understand our place and our competitors’ place in the casual dining segment 
  • Create and recommend new digital and social media strategies that align with our brand, consumer, operational execution and provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace
  • Work on high impact projects that are current issues facing the business and have an opportunity to see actual results implemented in our restaurants
  • Reporting/Analytics
  • Administrative support as needed for digital marketing programs
  • Support brand projects and other initiatives as needed
  • Work 25-30 hours per week during the internship
  • Present a summary of their internship work to members of the leadership team
 
 Requirements of the successful candidate
 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, social media, public relations a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have experience creating presentations and delivering recommendations
  • Self-starter who is able to take initiative on projects to move them forward
  • Collaborative and able to work with a cross-functional team
  • Organized and able to handle multiple projects and timelines to successful completion
  • Must be pursuing a college degree with a marketing / communications concentration
  • Must be analytical and able to gather insights and develop recommendations
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Must be able to commit to a 10-12 week internship (February through May)
  • Must be available to work in Tampa, Florida without housing assistance

  • Partner with Field Marketing Managers to support RVP Regions with meeting attendance and marketing activity rollout
  • In collaboration with Marketing Director, create communication of Local Restaurant Marketing (LRM) activity from the Brand, to guide & inform Field / Managing Partners, Agency Partners, Operations, Training, and Field Marketing Managers
  • Logistical and Administrative support, including coordination of cross-functional alignment for LRM programs, events, and partnerships
  • Coordinate communication materials for the field team (ie: G’day Times, Playbooks, etc.)
  • Coordinate marketing materials to support national and local efforts; Track compliance
  • Support Brand Initiatives (ie: NASCAR, Outback Bowl, Military, etc.) and other projects as needed
  • Work 25-30 hours per week during the internship
  • Present a summary of the internship work to members of the leadership team at the conclusion of the internship
