American Victory Museum and Ship seeks social media/marketing intern

The SS American Victory Mariners Museum is a non-profit museum located in Channelside. It is one of only four remaining fully-operational WWII steam ships. “The mission of the American Victory Museum & Ship is to provide an unforgettable voyage of discovery through American Maritime History via a world-class, shipboard, maritime museum dedicated to honoring the men and women who built, sailed, protected and provided service, worldwide, through the American Merchant Fleet since 1775 during times of peace and war.”

 
The museum is looking for an innovative and energetic intern for the Fall 2017 semester to work in the Social Media and Marketing department. The beautiful thing about this internship is we want your ideas and flare. We want to work with you to build your resume and build our presence in the Tampa Bay area.
 
Duties include:
– Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
         – plan and schedule content
         – interact with followers by replying to comments and reviews
– Videography
        – document tours/events
        – conduct a weekly interview of staff/volunteers
– Memberships
        – data entry
        – compiling and sending membership letters
– Volunteering
        – Help with any necessary tasks onboard
 
Things to take away:
– Event photography experience
– Experience using professional tools (Hootsuite, Constant Contact, Past Perfect IV, etc)
– Nonprofit experience
– Portfolio content
– Professional contacts
– Knowledge of a WWII steam ship and history from the era
– Coast Guard Watch Certification
