Responsibilities

The Florida State Office of AARP is recruiting for a paid communications intern to support their team.  This is a great opportunity to develop your skills while working for the largest social mission organization in the country.  Duties for this internship will include the following:

 

  1. Assist in executing state communications plans, preparing communications products, providing digital, social-media and graphics support to the Communications team and other internal clients, monitoring and maintaining web sites, and performing other communications-related functions as assigned by the Communications Manager;
  2. Assist full-time staff with projects as assigned;  
  3. Perform miscellaneous office duties as assigned.

Requirements

Intern applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or University, in their junior or senior years of their undergraduate studies, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Coursework leading to a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field preferred.  Some volunteer or intern experience in a communications role is helpful.
