Hillary for Florida seeks Communications Interns for the summer term. Hillary for Florida provides a meaningful learning experience that allows dedicated leaders to gain the skills needed to better our communities and our nation. Communications Interns will gain first-hand political experience while learning how a presidential campaign communicates its core message and interacts with the media. The internship is an unpaid opportunity. Applicants should be energetic, motivated, organized and excited to work on a historic presidential campaign. Interns will either participate in a summer-long internship at campaign headquarters in Tampa or work remotely from anywhere in Florida.

Can I receive school credit for interning with Hillary for Florida?

Yes, depending on your school requirements. We encourage you to apply for school credit as part of your participation in the internship program. We prioritize a meaningful learning experience while working with seasoned campaign staff from around the country.

Is the internship paid?

No, this is an unpaid internship. Interns will obtain an educational and professional experience in connection with their education or pursuit of a degree.

Is the internship part time or full time?

We have opportunities for both full-time and part-time internships. A minimum of 20 hours a week is required to participate in the program.

What type of projects will I work on as an intern?

Interns will follow, compile and track press coverage related to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in Florida. Interns will also assist with broader communications tasks, such as building press lists, drafting media advisories and press releases, writing briefings, and monitoring social media.

What are the desired skills and qualifications for the internship program?

Interns should have early morning availability; an interest in politics, journalism or media relations; and strong writing skills.
